Friday, January 9th

TGIF! It was a bit of light day at day care.  We didn't have as many dogs but we certainly had playful dogs.  We alternated between inside and outside more than we usually do since it was not only cold but sprinkling.  The dogs may not mind the cold, but no one wants to be cold and wet. So we kept them warm by coming inside and by making sure they ran and played a lot when outside.  Nothing warms a dog up like playing!

Here's Ace proving me wrong about no one wanting to be cold and wet.

Here is JR.  He's left Southfork and the oil business and decided to retire down here. ( I hope at least some of you get the Dallas reference.)

Toby is trying to ignore the loud silliness of Sasha and Ace playing next to him.

If Vader was a dessert or candy, he'd be licorice, or make that lick-orice. Get it? Lick? I crack myself up sometimes.

Mason wants to join Sasha and Ace.  He says "Pleeeeease can I play too?"

Sasha and Ace say "Of course you can!"

Ace running laps to keep his figure.

If Piper were a dessert, she would be a chocolate lava cake with caramel filling. Because sometimes she seems like a calm dog, just sitting and watching but then she burst forward with silly playful energy.

Sasha would be french vanilla ice cream with a drizzle of chocolate syrup, both dignified and messy.  She is such a lady but she also loves playing with the boys.

JR would be apple pie with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.  A good old classic dessert for a good old dog.

Piper is getting hungry with all this talk of food.

If Toby was a dessert he'd be a gooey dark chocolate brownie because he is so sweet and I'm sure we'd all love a brownie as big as Toby.

Mason is an ice cream sundae, the kind that has more toppings than ice cream.  Just look! He even brought his own cherry!

Ace would be a milk chocolate candy bar, especially one that is little melted and gets all over your fingers.  Ace loves getting messy and he loves grabbing peoples fingers.

Ace like the sound of some chocolate.  None for you! You know that's bad for dogs.  Vader agrees.

Ace patiently waits his turn to play with the ball.  No one is getting between Vader's mouth and that ball.

Toby's turn!

Piper too!

Romo and Bonnie.  These two were playing together quite a bit.

Sophie dressed for success as always.

Rango would be S'mores! They both prove that small things can carry a lot of flavor and fun,

Swayze would be hot cocoa with marshmallows.  She's always keeping warming with her running and playing.  And you can carry hot cocoa with wherever you go just like Swayze is going to follow you wherever you go.  You may not think she will.  But a jumper like her sees gates as just a way to keep the other dogs out while she jumps right over.

Luna would be a cookies n cream Hershey's bar.  Luna puts everyone in a good mood.  She can be sweet but also pretty wild, just like the candy bar is creamy and crunchy.

Bailey P would be salty caramel.  Both sweet and sticky, she sticks to us like glue and likes to stand between our feet.  You can never have just one caramel and you can never pet Bailey just once.  If you do, she paws at your hand for more.

Bonnie and Grace are surveying the yard for the best toys to chase after.

Luna is showing us how well she can sit.  Bonnie is being a bit for of a rebel.

 Romo is so super soft.

Little baby Zoe would be rice krispies treat.  It's easy to make and Zoe is easy to handle and both make you feel young like a kid again.

Swayze and Grace playing queen of the platform.

Grace would be turtle cheesecake.  Caramel, chocolate, pecans and cheesecake, so many good flavors it almost seems too much but ends up being just perfect.  Grace has a big personality too but it's never too much for us.

Look at this happy group of dogs!

Bonnie is a Dutch baby, a puffed pancake, with a bit of lemon zest to add some kick.  She looks like she'll be a calm dog, good for sitting with and petting.  But she jumps up with a surprise bit of zest and energy.

Dexter says to make sure we get his good side.

Romo would be toasted marshmallows.  Marshmallows are so good on their own or with other food or drinks, they just get better and better with every new way of eating them.  Romo is adorable as lap dog or fun to watch playing with the other dogs and he plays different with each one.  Just when you think he can't get better, he does!

Swayze says, "I know there's a squeaker somewhere in this toy.  I just gotta find the right spot to bite."

Kora wants to prove that she can hang with the big dogs too.  Well, relatively big.  Swayze is actually pretty small but from Kora's viewpoint, everyone is big.

Kora says she'll find the squeaky spot.

I think she found the squeaker!

Zoe says, "What's that blue thing in your hands?  Is that a chew toy?"  No, Zoe.  The camera is definitely not a chew toy.

JR is just loving it here!

Swayze brought this toy over to us so we would throw it but when we bent down to get it, someone else had come along and decided to play with it...

Sophie may be small but she sure told those bigger dogs it was her turn to play.

Sophie would be sweet Yorkshire pudding. Though usually served as a savory dish, some people eat Yorkshire pudding with jam and ice cream.  Just like those people, Sophie likes to do things her way.  If she wants to play with a toy bigger than her, she's going to play with it.

Luna says, "I'm gonna get you Zoe!"

JR is reminding Luna that she's still bigger than Zoe and needs to play gently.

Luna says she'll just lick Zoe's face.

Swayze has claimed this toy as hers! Bailey thinks the other dogs might object to that.

Bruno would be monkey bread.  He has the gorgeous cinnamon color, he likes to stick to people and he uses his paws like monkey feet.

Zoe and Luna are sharing some puppy gossip under the swing.  Swayze is trying to listen in.

Dexter would be Creme Brulee.  You've got to crack through the tough exterior he likes to put up but once you do, you'll find a lovable sweet dog.  Usually you've just got to let him sit in your lap and he loves you.

Gracie would be an eclair.  They are both so pretty and dignified to look at.  But once you bite into an eclair that yummy cream starts spilling out, just like once you start playing with Gracie, the young goofiness comes out.

Kora would be tiramisu.  She is delicate like the lady fingers but she's got spunk and energy like coffee.  And since the word tiramisu is Italian for "pick me up" it's just perfect for a little dog like Kora.

Rango is gonna get that ball!  Johnny in the background went to grooming after this picture and came back looking like a completely different dog! No pictures because we want his owners to be surprised.

Zoe, that water is for drinking.  It belongs in the bowl, not on the turf.  Besides, turf grass doesn't need watering.

Gracie can't decide if she's standing of sitting. So she'll do half and half.  Little Toby is looking for Sophie.  He was following her all day.

Zoe says she's ready to go inside.  Follow the leader, Romo.

Dexter worked really hard on today's blog.

Wait, is that an embarrassing photo of me?  Better delete that.
